When it comes to interior designing, it’s always easier when you get to deal with larger spaces rather than small apartments to stuff everything you have. However, interior specialist Tori Golub is here to assure us that with a little creativity and imagination, even lofts with limited space could look nice and cozy. All you have to do is pay much attention on the furniture you buy and the furnishings you apply. Some can make the room look larger, some will add the modern twist it needs and some will just make you feel comfortable when you step inside. 6 Rooms Apartment Squeezed into 60 sq. meters by h2o architectes

The “Front and back” Apartment was a singular brief from a young Parisian advertising executive also avid collector of comic strips. He wished to live in a fresh environment, both serene and sparkling despite the fact that his existing space was dilapidated, its geometry confusing, compartmentalized and contorted. The original apartment consisted of 6 rooms squeezed into 60 sq. meters, the entry space alone was 5 sq. meters and had 7 different doors! The new design offers a continuous wide open space which expands, becomes more complex or dense depending on orientations and uses.

These variances are defined by the variable geometries and the usable thickness of the casework and walls. A study on sculpting these depths allowed to create a variety of cavities, niches and alcoves. The sculpted shapes vary in size and colours to adapt to multiple functions in different locations. They can harbour either the vast collection of comic strips or a bar, a bathroom, a closet, and so on. The front side of each shape always maintains its negative volume on the back. Behind the scenes can unveiled new uses taking place like cupboards, a desk, video, shelves, etc. In this manner, the apartment is continuously renewed and cross-views can become through-views. Warm and Natural Interiors Created by K2LD Architects, Laced With Wood

The beautiful and ambient apartment designed by K2LD Architects largely revolve around extensive use of natural wood. Quite obviously, that gives the interiors a warm, cozy and comforting feel. The lighting options that have been chosen use an equally mellow yellow shade to bring out the very best from these stylish and minimalist interiors. Despite the indulgent use of wood, the apartment is styled in a sleek and uber-cool modern fashion with ergonomic furniture taking center stage. The feel is maintained throughout the home, but it seems strangely enough that just the kitchen is left in a less natural and blander fashion… Let’s hope they get down and give it a bit of a face lift, too. - via

Set to be showcased at the 2009 Salone del Mobile furnishings show this April, the cool and contemporary children’s bedrooms designed by Dearkids stole our heart with their attractive shades, wonderful use of available space and great design options. The complete bedroom designs vary from the eternal favorite pink (though this one is a tad bit too dark) to trendy orange and even the plain white at times. Apart from the colors, there are various bed options available, tiny staircases, plenty of chairs, tables, cushions and all the other stuff that make a kid’s bedroom truly complete. Your little one can even display his own name proudly on the bed as it doubles up as safety railing. Colorful and full of life all the way!

Frame Bar: Flowing Bands For Exclusive Interiors

With arguably the best beaches in all of Europe, for the style-conscious Greece is also home for one of the most special bar designs we’ve seen. Put together by architects from TSIG at St George Lycabettus Hotel in Kolonaki, Athens, the interiors use a very special design pattern where flowing white bands move on from one corner to another like an illusion. Getting your attention at an instant, the elegant bar has an unique charm where all-white accessories contrast with the brown flooring. Definitely a hotel we’d try, even if it’s just for the restaurant downstairs. - via

Stripes & curves, When your world turns to black and white

If you are under the illusion that this is a set out of the 101 Dalmatians flick, then you could be forgiven for feeling so. Conceived and given shape by interior designer Tom Atwood, these absolutely stunning interiors try to capture the beauty of modern minimalist design and style by using various shapes, patterns, curves and stripes etched in nothing but just black and white. Even the staircase keep the contrast, along with uber-cool rugs and bars on the ceiling. The ambience and the beauty created by the harmonious existence of vast dissimilarity in shades, are truly inspirational.
